Mostly Jonas from what I could tell, but I ended up spending the whole game with him for reasons so no Nona or Ren time with Alex in this playthrough. It’s kinda crazy that everyone’s just rolling with it in the end. Oh look, Clarissa just hung herself suddenly, the ghost soccer ball exploded on that rock, Ren just died in 3 different ways if he and Nona go to the power station in the woods. (I wonder if it always is Clarissa who gets it…?) But then the time loops that happen always show the worst possibilities. When the group starts getting possessed it’s bad enough. This game is really good at being scary! Whenever the ghosts and the craziness with the tape players happens, it’s always unsettling. Time to get into it…įirst off, holy shit. I say this just because of how I am about spoilers of these things, and I think Oxenfree is up there with games that SHOULD NOT BE SPOILED for the best experience. If all you’re looking for is an impression of it it is up there. Okay, just as a heads-up, I’m getting into some big spoilers for the game after this point.
I’m glad I got my graphics card worked out, because before I was having frame rate issues and things were moving slowly, but with it fixed I was able to enjoy the climax in full.
I highly recommend this to anyone who loves adventure games or a good story. Though while it is pretty short, it was also an amazing game. It took me about 4 hours to get through it so I was only an hour away last time I stopped. While I was on a roll today, I finished Oxenfree.
